How to use this app
- BROWSE: Peruse "The Shelf" for bottles that have already been added. You can click any for more information, read reviews and add your own review.
- FILTER: Click the 'Filter' button to sort by either price, overall rating or the latest updates (default). You can also choose to show only certain categories of whiskeys.
- RATE: Click the '+ Rate Whiskey' button in the header (desktop/tablet) or the '+' button bottom center (mobile) to rate an existing whiskey, search for a whiskey or add a new bottle not yet on The Shelf.
- RATINGS: These are tabulated by adding the sum of five categories, each getting a possible 20 points, resulting a total score out of 100. The five categories are: Nose (Aroma), Palate (Taste & Mouthfeel), Finish (Aftertaste), Balance (Overall Experience), Value (experience for the cost).
- ADD BOTTLE: First check to see if your bottle is already on the shelf so duplicates aren't created. To add a new bottle, click the button and then you can add a picture by either uploading one from your device, taking a photo or searching Google. Add the name, select the type of whiskey, input the proof and price. You can optionally add a link. Then, you can add your rating.
- USER MENU: Click or tap your avatar top right in the header. From there you can click 'My Profile' to edit your profile (see below). This can also be accessed by the 'PROFILE' button (bottom right on mobile only). From here you can also send a message to the admin with comments, questions or to request an invite code for a friend.
- MY PROFILE: Here, you can add/edit your avatar (user image) and display name. You can also view all of your ratings and even edit or update them.
- CHANGES TO SHELF BOTTLES: Since you can only edit your own review, if you would like to suggest a change to a listed bottle on the shelf due to inaccuracy (picture, proof, price, whiskey type), please use the Message Admin feature.
- NOTE: This is a custom app developed by Vincent Llora, free and meant to be a procured hub of friends that enjoy whiskey and like to share their experiences.
